Magna Mater

Since Christians stole basically everything from Africans, including people, I’m stealing Christian songs and giving them to Bast! She deserves them more than Christian God the Father. Unlike Christian God the Father, Bast doesn’t make her kids die for her other kids’ sins after being tortured for days on end. Imagine being a worse parent than a cat!

Oh Bast is an awesome cat!

She reigns from Heaven above

with wisdom, power, and love!

Oh Bast is an awesome cat!

inspired by Our God is an Awesome God, originally written by Rich Mullins.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the hunting of this cat.

She is firing the shaman cuz he’s worthless, that’s a fact!

But his mother-goddess loves him still despite his lack of tact.

This cat is prowling on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

This cat is prowling on.

Queen-Mother Ramonda needs a better man than him.

Someone who won’t kill his brother on a stupid, heartless whim.

Then abandon her sweet nephew to the racist government.

His wife is moving on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

His wife is moving on.

This is why M’Baku is the best Wakandan king.

He’s the best one of the lot at least as far as I can see.

I’ve got a list of reasons he’s the perfect king to me.

This healer’s living on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

This healer’s living on.

inspired by Battle Hymn of the Republic, originally written by abolitionist Julia Ward Howe.

And finally, a song for both Bast and Magna Mater, to commemorate their purrfect union: You Never Let Go. This was the perfect song for them already. I only had to change a couple words. Well done, Matt Redman!

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
Your perfect love is casting out fear.
And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storms of this life,
I won’t turn back,
I know Y’all are near.

And I will fear no evil.
For my Moms are with me.
And if my Moms are with me,
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?

Oh no, You never let go,
Through the calm and through the storm.
Oh no, You never let go,
In every high and every low.
Oh no, You never let go,
Moms, You never let go of me.

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on,
A glorious light beyond all compare.
And there will be an end to these troubles.
But until that day comes,
We’ll live to know Y’all here on the earth.

And I will fear no evil,
For my Moms are with me.
And if my Moms are with me,
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?

Oh no, You never let go,
Through the calm and through the storm.
Oh no, You never let go,
In every high and every low.
Oh no, You never let go,
Moms, You never let go of me.

“HFE, I can’t believe you compared Black hair to cats!”

I’m the craziest cat boy you’ve ever seen. I really, really, really love cats. Likewise, everyone should really, really, really love Black people―appropriately.

If you can understand why you shouldn’t touch or douse the flame of a Charmander’s tail, you can understand why you shouldn’t touch Black people’s hair or intentionally get it wet. Just imagine their hair’s on fire! Don’t touch any part of someone’s body without permission! And don’t intentionally ruin other people’s hair! For some people, it’s more than just a hairstyle, it’s a sacred part of their culture. Even if you don’t care for your own hair, some people do care about their hair, including putting hours of work into it. You shouldn’t need to be a genius to figure that out, you just need thoughts in your head! If you wanna touch somebody’s hair so badly, touch your own or buy a stuffed animal!

Dulcé Sloan talks about how Black hair is stigmatized in America.

Here’s a person analogy for you: if you wouldn’t touch Lady Galadriel or King Thranduil’s hair without permission, don’t touch anybody else’s hair without permission! Both of them would just outright kill you if you dared.

‘There is nothing, Lady Galadriel’, said Gimli, bowing low and stammering. ‘Nothing, unless it might be – unless it is permitted to ask, nay, to name a single strand of your hair, which surpasses the gold of the earth as the stars surpass the gems of the mine. I do not ask for such a gift. But you commanded me to name my desire’.

“It is said that the skill of the Dwarves is in their hands rather than in their tongues, yet that is not true of Gimli. For none have ever made to me a request so bold and yet so courteous…I do not foretell, for all foretelling is now vain: on the one hand lies darkness, and on the other only hope. But if hope should not fail, then I say to you, Gimli son of Glóin, that your hands shall flow with gold, and yet over you gold shall have no dominion.”

The Fellowship of the Ring, “Farewell to Lórien“.

Why would you want to touch other people’s hair anyway!? Hair is the germiest part of the body, and we are in the middle of a pandemic, idiots!

“So, HFE, once you start writing these characters’ stories, how are you going to ensure Disney doesn’t sue you?”

Just make Wildstar and Nkosana girls.

“What!?”

Yep. There’s a perfect girl’s name for Nkosana: Nkosazana; isiZhosa, princess.

Besides, if Pixxy Fire Fist and Lady Galadriel are any indication, by the time I get around to writing anything about them, they’ll be different enough, I’m sure.

I’d also like to avoid the strong Black woman stereotype. Everybody loves a strong woman, but there are many different types of strength. And in order to heal, you need to be vulnerable, which Black women simply aren’t allowed to be in this world.

Join us on Patreon for a super fun idea Disney could pursue if they let their creatives be creative with all the creations they own!

“HFE, thank you for creating and sharing so much art and writing for free. How can we help turn your passion and skills into a full-time gig?”

I’m glad you asked!

If you can give me a one-time tip, head over to ko-fi. I’ve also got emotes and icons you can buy.

If you can commit to a monthly tip, you can set that up via twitch or patreon. Twitch also lets you set up alternate payment schedules: every three months and every six months. Ko-fi lets you set up monthly payments now, too!

You can also buy some characters and critters I’ve designed on toyhouse.

And if you have no money to spare (understandable), one way you can help me out is by commenting and using as many share buttons as possible. Commenting gives me feedback on what works y’all are passionate about. Sharing helps expose my works to new people. The bigger my audience grows, the more audience members with money will encounter my works.

Thank you for taking time to read this. I hope you enjoy what you’ve found here.
