Hannah and Jake, and God Awful Movies were two of the main channels I watched during my becoming-an-atheist days. Between those two, Cinema Snob, Rachel Oates, Holy Koolaid, and Genetically Modified Skeptic; my Christianity was well and truly gone. Anyone who can remain a Christian (specifically a Christian of the my-holy-book-and-spiritual-kin-are-infallibly-correct variety) after combing through their content gets a medal. Or just wasn’t paying attention and doesn’t care about anything not like themself.
Believe it or not, they’ve discussed another Christian movie that’s basically just like this one, but with incest. As I was looking for that podcast, I saw other youtube videos calling Loving the Bad Man a “faith-based movie about forgiveness”. Excuse me!? What kind of garbage faith do you have? Check yourself before you wreck yourself―and others―handing out bullshit information like this!
On AO3, generally speaking, creators acknowledge when our media’s absolute nonsense garbage, or when it shouldn’t be consumed by certain audiences. Warning for rape is literally one of the things we’re required to do before publishing a work. And also on AO3, generally speaking, most of us understand that forcing / coercing someone to not only love their rapist, but also forcing / coercing them into birthing unwanted babies, is morally reprehensible! I can’t claim to speak for everyone, but this is certainly true of the AO3ers I interact with.
Christians need to relearn what morality is from AO3ers!
I’m not going to lower my dignity by saying “I know not all Christians act / think like this”. Instead, I challenge those types of Christians to challenge the Christians who do act / think like this. Every culture has its problems. Christians need to stop ignoring the problems in their culture and start fixing them! Their culture is the ruling culture. They need to understand that what’s good for the goose is not always good for the gander. And sometimes what the goose thinks is good for itself is not good at all! Stop hero-worshiping yourselves and learn about your culture through the eyes of people who have to survive the consequences of you and your cultural ancestors’ doggedly relentless self-righteousness.

Kenken: Hi, I’m here to add some additional educational value to this atrocious experiment. In ye olde ancient days, werewolves often represented perisex binary cis man’s lust, violence, destruction, and other strong emotions―and the struggle to cope with them. And Caranthir, the fieriest spirit amongst a family of fiery spirits whose fiery spirits were not supported properly by the people and society they grew up in, would have most definitely struggled with a lot of brutal emotions. That’s about where our guy’s at right now too at this point in his life (albeit in his case, fear). And can you blame him? Nobody in his physical, blood family is on his side. Even his own body is against him! Caranthir had his body and brothers on his side, our guy didn’t. As he keeps saying, “Neurotypical people need to understand that when your neurotype isn’t supported very well by the society and / or family you grow up in, of course there’s going to be consequences. You shouldn’t need to be a genius to figure that out, you just need thoughts in your head! Besides, even neurotypical people abuse their loved ones. Don’t act so high and mighty! Not all evils are caused by dark spirits, demons, and devils. Sometimes, hell is the home is you’re raised in, and the education you’re tortured into accepting.” Guess who is not only the most vulnerable to the most heinous crimes known to mankind, but also most often gets convicted of those crimes? The people who need help, know they’ll never get it, and therefore know they have nothing to lose if something happens to them. Not the people who have all the resources in the world (often through stealing it), including enough resources to get away with whatever the hell they want.
Beowulf: If you want to fight evil, you need to understand the causes of the evils in your world, whatever galaxy you’re from.
Harnor: You need to listen to people who suffer the consequences of those evils, not those who produce propaganda that claims everything’s just fine and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with your way of life or thinking. Every culture has its problems. Do you understand the problems with yours? Or are you sweeping your cultures’ problems under the rug, because you are safe, and therefore have no evils currently targeting you?
