Megan (she/her) is a biromantic asexual author. I asked her about herself and her content, as well as content she’s been enjoying recently. You can check out Megan at the links at the end of the interview.
- What queer terminology do you use for yourself publicly, offline and / or online? Do not feel pressured to come out as anything in your answer. Please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
- Asexual, biromantic. I sometimes just say lesbian because it’s easier.
- What non-queer demographic terminology do you use for yourself? (nationality, wealth, ethnicity, race, disability / ability, neurotype, age, education, occupation, for example). Again, please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
- American, white, middle class, disabled (psoriatic arthritis, ADHD, depression).
- What content do you produce?
- I write queer fantasy romance, novels, novellas, and short stories.
- What do you enjoy doing when you’re not creating content?
- cross-stitching.
- video games.
- playing with my cats.
- What does the queer community needs to do better about understanding, accepting, and supporting?
- The queer community has, broadly, always been pretty rotten regarding ace folk. If you’re not allosexual, it feels, you don’t count.
- What are you excited about going forward? Can be anything from creative projects, personal or professional milestones, etc.
- Writing wise, I’m always excited about new projects. Some of these i’ve been waiting to work on for a long time.
- Personal, we’re redoing my office and that’s super fun.
- Are there any pets or plants in your life?
- 21 Cats. My wife and I take care of the strays in the area, and a lot of them even after being TNR’ed wind up hanging around for the free food and air conditioning, lol.
- What content creators have you been enjoying recently?
- R. Cooper for writing, my sister and various people she follows for digital photography, and I really enjoy Murder Mystery Makeup Monday, lol.
- What is your favorite thing about yourself?
- I don’t have much going for me, but I am persistent. It took a long time and a lot of hard work to get to where I am, living entirely off my writing, and I’m proud of myself for achieving that dream.
