Interview with James

James (he/they) is a queer artist. I asked them about him and their content, as well as content he’s been enjoying recently. You can check out James at the links at the end of the interview.

  1. What queer terminology do you use for yourself publicly? Do not feel pressured to come out as anything in your answer. Please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
    • I often use queer, nonbinary, genderfluid, ace, trans, biromantic, panromantic, gay, dyke.
  2. What non-queer demographic terminology do you use for yourself? Again, please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
    • Autistic, poor, disabled, white.
  3. What projects are you involved in? This can be any type of content you’d like to promote.
    • I sell my art on Redbubble, everything from queer pride to nature.
  4. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not creating content?
    • Reading, painting, walks in nature.
  5. What does the queer community needs to do better about understanding, accepting, and supporting?
    • actively call out transphobia, transmisogyny, transmisandry, mspecphobia, aphobia, interphobia. Also work on its racism and ableism.
  6. What are you excited about going forward? Can be anything from creative projects, personal or professional milestones, etc.
    • I’m excited to be writing an article about trans men lesbians and starting my first career job after college at a camp for environmental ed.
  7. Are there any pets or plants in your life?
    • I have a pet Paradise Fish named Myrmes after scientific name for ants, plants: haworthia, cactus, aloe vera, air plant.
  8. What content / content creators have you been enjoying recently? This could be anything from books, to podcasts, to tutorial videos, etc. Anything you want other people to know about.
    • Horror movies, queer books, Mandalorian side of tik tok.
  9. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
    • This is hard 😂! There are things I like but I don’t know about fav so I’ll skip I guess.
