Interview with Jasper

Jasper (he/him) is a queer writer and artist. I asked him about himself and his content, as well as content he’s been enjoying recently. You can check out Jasper at the links at the end of the interview.

1. What queer terminology do you use for yourself publicly? Do not feel pressured to come out as anything in your answer. Please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
   • I am a gay transgender man. I’m very proud of this, but I come from unaccepting household, so I am only publicly out in my friend groups, online, and in school.
2. What non-queer demographic terminology do you use for yourself? Again, please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
   • I am neurodivergent with ADHD. I also have chronic depression and anxiety.
   • Other than that, i’m a White Irish American.
3. What projects are you involved in? This can be any type of content you’d like to promote.
   • I am one of the four streamers for Chaos Crypt,
   • a founder of The Pride discord server,
   • and a cofounder, the lead writer, and social media manager for Cavian Studios, which is producing a large multimedia fantasy project my friends and I are doing called The Cavian Cycle!
4. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not creating content?
   • Honestly? I’m always creating content! My passion project, The Cavian Cycle, is not only work, but also my biggest passion and fills me with so much joy. I enjoy working on that so much!
   • I also love to listen to music, watch Youtube and other content creators, and enjoy the occasional video game.
5. What does the queer community needs to do better about understanding, accepting, and supporting?
   • There’s no point in fighting and arguing with one another. Inter-community hatred does nothing but slow us down. We should focus our anger towards our oppressors, our common enemies instead. That will do us much more good in the long run.
6. What are you excited about going forward? Can be anything from creative projects, personal or professional milestones, etc.
   • We are doing a big Sub-a-thon for Chaos Crypt and tons of events throughout July to celebrate our one year of streaming! A lot of our goals are related to The Cavian Cycle and I’m very excited about it! I’m honestly just excited to see Chaos Crypt and Cavian Studios grow and spread our passion to others.
7. Are there any pets or plants in your life?
   • Yes, many pets!! I have four cats:
     1. Big Papi,
     2. McBoo,
     3. Hunter,
     4. and the beloved Chaos Crypt mascot: Little Dude/Peebis.
   • I also have an African Fat Tailed gecko named Seymour,
   • and a Tiger salamander named Oswald!
8. What content / content creators have you been enjoying recently? This could be anything from books, to podcasts, to tutorial videos, etc. Anything you want other people to know about.
   • I love watching my friends stream when i can! To name just a few:

   • One of my favorite bigger content creators is Ethan CrankGamePlays, he brings me serotonin. While it was around, I watched the YouTube channel Unus Annus every day they uploaded. Mark and Ethan are big inspirations for me!
9. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
   • I’m passionate as hell! I’ve always been ambitious and driven. While my goals over my life have changed drastically, I never lost the love and fire I had for what I do. I love to create; I was born to be a storyteller. Whether it’s theatre, acting, writing, or art, I will do just that.
   • Loving myself is a journey that I don’t think I’ve reached the destination of yet, but I haven’t gotten sick of walking yet.
