Interview with SarahSelene

Alexis (she/them) is a variety streamer. They recently helped fundraise for my new streaming computer! I asked her about themself and their content, as well as content she’s been enjoying recently. You can check out Alexis out at the links at the end of the interview.

1. What queer terminology do you use for yourself publicly? Do not feel pressured to come out as anything in your answer. Please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
   • I describe myself as Bisexual and Non-Binary. Sometimes I also use the terms Genderqueer or Genderfluid, but I usually stick with Non-Binary.
2. What non-queer demographic terminology do you use for yourself? Again, please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
   • I’m a Anti-zionist Jewish Neurodivergent Millennial! Thank you for asking.
3. What projects are you involved in? This can be any type of content you’d like to promote.
   • I’m the administrator of The Pride, I’ve previously worked with ProtoGilly for mutual aid projects (Hope to work with him in the future as well).
   • I’m also in the PrideSMP, and the Pride Overwatch Tournament.
   • Oh, and I’m in an LGBTQIA+ minecraft speedrunning project.
   • Also I’m in the Totally Not Cursed D&D party.
   • Oh! And I stream on Twitch! I play a new game from the Social Justice and Inequality Bundle from Itch on Saturdays, and on Sundays I replay one of those games. The rest of the week I play other games.
   • (Also, I’m back in classes to become a Data Analyst).
4. What non-creative hobbies do you enjoy?
   • So most of what people would consider a “non-creative” hobby, is a creative hobby for me. But, I like to do research, make spreadsheets, play video games, and snuggle my animals.
5. What does the queer community needs to do better about understanding, accepting, and supporting?
   • Much like many groups, I think the queer community’s biggest issues have been dealing with race, and also dealing with things where the people at the top are comfortable, and so no longer feel the need to help those that are not on top. I see a lot of people in our community who, now that they have marriage, don’t care about trans communities, other racial identities, or even the disabled community. It’s infuriating.
6. What are you excited about going forward? Can be anything from creative projects, personal or professional milestones, etc.
   • I’m so excited to be streaming and growing my community. I’ve always wanted to do content creation, but youtube was too difficult for me to film with my mental stuff, and TikTok was too difficult to keep up with, and now I’m creating content and playing games with my community, and it’s one of the best things in my life. I love it so much and I’m so excited to see where it will go.
7. Are there any pets or plants in your life?
   • I have 3 pets! In chronological order I have: Janeway, my cat; Princess, my royal python; and Maisy, my dog.
8. What content / content creators have you been enjoying recently?
   • I love everyone in my D&D group: KartoonKween, ArachneBride, theLittlestKovo, IvyClericHayley, and BrieConnaissance.
   • I’m also a big fan of DoGsCast with chaos_crypt.
   • When I can catch them I like to hang with SolarsStardust, Hachiko, HFEproductions, and ProtoGilly as well.
   • For content creators that I don’t know personally over on youtube I enjoy Joinen and GreyStillPlays, I watch them every day.
9. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
   • My tenacity. I go down a lot, but I don’t stay down.
