Interview with Mabus

MabustheDark (they/them) is my partner and a queer gaming streamer. They also helped fundraise for my new streaming computer! I asked them about themself and their content, as well as content they’ve been enjoying recently. You can check out Mabus at the links at the end of the interview.

1. What queer terminology do you use for yourself publicly? Do not feel pressured to come out as anything in your answer. Please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
   • Publicly (like at work) I’m not really out to anyone, but otherwise I’m trans and nonbinary and a bit generally gay.
2. What non-queer demographic terminology do you use for yourself? Again, please only disclose whatever you’re comfortable with.
   • If I’m understanding this one correctly, I’m white with likely general European origins.
3. What projects are you involved in?
   • I’m currently not doing any projects that I know of, after recently putting in work to raise money for HFE’s computer! :p.
4. What non-creative hobbies do you enjoy?
   • I have an interest in hiking but haven’t had much opportunity to do anything about it, especially recently.
5. What does the queer community needs to do better about understanding, accepting, and supporting?
   • The queer community needs to stop trying to force people into boxes.
   • They also need to stop telling people what they can or cannot be.
6. What are you excited about going forward? Can be anything from creative projects, personal or professional milestones, etc.
   • I am excited to learn and grow more as I accept myself and others more. (The DQ3 remake thing is also high on my list!)
7. Are there any pets or plants in your life?
   • I am the proud parent of a young boy cat named Spooky and co-parent of a senior boy cat named Elvis, as well as having my roommate’s cat Worm to care for as well!
8. What content / content creators have you been enjoying recently? This could be anything from books, to podcasts, to tutorial videos, etc. Anything you want other people to know about.
   • I’ve been watching a lot of Daggerwin lately and his various Farming Simulator videos as something interesting and mindless to enjoy.
   • It’s also nice to see HFE’s new flag art and stories! ♡.
9. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
   • My favorite thing about myself is my capacity for care. In previous times I was a lot more guarded about myself but I’ve come a fair way since then.
